Keith McDonald
Syndicate Manager / Race Day Host
Right from a young age, the Thoroughbred industry has been a part of my life, with family members heavily involved from horse ownership, horse training, breeding and even as a race starter, the horse industry has always been a passion of mine.
A keen rugby follower and having coached at Representative and Premier club level for 16 years, the invention of Savvy Racing Syndicates was a natural fit.
I have been engaged in the corporate world for the last 17 years, mainly at a customer front level, this exposure has enlightened me to quality customer care needs.
I believe my passion for the Thoroughbred industry, Rugby and Customer care will ultimately result in the success of Savvy Racing.
Janice McDonald
Syndicate Manager / Race Day Host
Having joined the Mt Roskill Pony Club at 12 and riding show jumping and pony club events up until the age of 18, horses have always been a passion of mine.
Having a family at a young age ultimately resulted in a break away from horses, however we have recently moved to Matamata and I currently have two miniature horses (Gypsy) and (Panda) keeping me busy. We also have the retired Van Diamond at home and a well bred Belardo filly.
Racing is a huge passion of mine and I look forward to the race day experience Savvy Racing will provide to its Syndicate owners.

Pam Gerard
Trainer
Pam joined with Mike Moroney and the Ballymore Stable in 2016. Pam takes over the running of Ballymore in August and will be known as Ballymore Racing.
“Pam brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and horsemanship to the table and we are very excited to have secured her,” Moroney said.
Pam’s work with young horses is exceptional and the strike rate the stable is experiencing in Group or listed races places Ballymore as one of the leading NZ stables.
Ballymore Racing is based in Matamata and will take charge of the Savvy Racing Magpies Syndicate (Khando), Taniwha Syndicate (My Own Beat), Tight Five Syndicate (Force of Law), Steamers Syndicate (Skipping), Lions syndicate (Let’s Dance) and the Turbo’s syndicate (Clear Conscience).
